Woman injured in crash with semi-tractor trailer

A 19-year-old woman was injured after the car she was driving ran through a stop sign and into a semi-tractor trailer.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department said its deputies were called shortly before 7 a.m. Friday to the intersection of Findley Road and M-66.

Investigators said a car driving east on Findley Road by Sarah Bostick, of Howe, Ind., failed to stop at the intersection of M-66. It struck and ran underneath the trailer of a southbound semi.

The driver of the semi was identified as John Shettles of Thaxton, Mississippi.

Neither Shettles nor his adult passenger were injured in the accident. Bostick, however, was airlifted to Kalamazoo for treatment for her injuries.
