A Three Rivers woman, 51-year-old Misty Barnes, was injured in a single-vehicle accident last week in Cass County’s Newburg Township.
Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called at 4:45 a.m. Sunday to Savage Road, near Born Street.
Barnes was driving north on Savage Road, when a deer ran out in front of her vehicle.
Barnes told authorities she swerved to avoid striking the deer and lost control of her vehicle, which went off the roadway and struck a tree.
Barnes was transported to Bronson Hospital for treatment. It is believed that seat belts were used and that alcohol is not a factor, Behnke said.
