A multiple-vehicle accident ended with a fatality Sunday night in Constantine Township.
The Michigan State Police are investigating the incident, which happened on U.S. 131 and North River Road at approximately 10:25 p.m.
A 28-year-old White Pigeon man was driving his motorcycle southbound on U.S. 131 when a 29-year-old male driver from Kalamazoo, who was stopped at North River Road, turned into the path of the motorcycle.
This caused a collision and the driver of the motorcycle to be thrown into oncoming traffic. A second vehicle, driven by a 36-year-old female from White Pigeon, was traveling northbound on U.S. 131 and struck the cyclist while he was laying in the road.
Constantine Fire Department personnel attempted to save the man but were unsuccessful. The motorcyclist was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash and no additional information is being released at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
