The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency wants make sure everyone safely enjoys a fireworks show this holiday weekend.
The agency issued a media release in which a number of safety reminders are referenced.
Common sense should be the rule of thumb.
Smart and safe Fourth of July celebrations include reminders that kids should never play with fireworks, only legal fireworks should be lit, never try to make homemade fireworks, do not attempt to re-light a firework that does not ignite, have a bucket of water and a hose nearby, never throw or point fireworks at someone, even as a joke and do not point fireworks toward homes.
The agency also recommends pets be kept indoors to reduce the risk that they’ll run loose or get injured.
