US-131 reconstruction update

Here’s the weekly Michigan Department of Transportation update regarding the U.S. 131 reconstruction project in Three Rivers.

MDOT officials said the Stage 2 traffic pattern remains in place and operating as two-way traffic on the southbound U.S. 131 lane.

Work at the Rocky River bridge near Hoffman Street is expected to conclude this week, however, the bridge will remain closed.

Meanwhile, road-building and underground storm-pipe work will be continuing just south of Hoffman Road.

In addition, MDOT noted that the traffic pattern at the entrance to William R. Monroe Industrial Park has been switched to the opposite lane, as underground storm pipe and road building continues in the area, which is at the south end of the project.

Also, MDOT noted that work related to utility relocation will be ongoing throughout the duration of the two-year, $20 million project.
