Constantine man sentenced to federal prison

A Constantine man was sentenced last week to federal prison following court proceedings related to child pornography.

An investigation headed by Michigan State Police and its Computer Crimes Unit resulted in the arrest of 60-year-old Paul Halcomb. He was charged with distribution of child pornography.

Halcomb’s case was prosecuted federally by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of Michigan. He pleaded guilty in April and was sentenced Aug. 12 to 15 years in federal prison.

An investigation was initiated following evidence that a person was downloading and distributing videos and images of child sexually-abusive material, according to authorities.

Further investigation into the suspect’s identity led members of the state police task force to Halcomb’s residence, where investigators were able to confirm his involvement in distributing child pornography.
