Stolen motorcycle recovered

Three Rivers officers last week recovered a motorcycle reported stolen Aug. 4 from a residence in the Meadow Lane Trailer Park.

According to a department media release, friends of the victim subsequently noticed the motorcycle Wednesday at Edgewater Apartments. As the friends inquired about the motorcycle, the suspect got on the two-wheeler and sped away.

Officers were made aware that the suspect was a fugitive with active arrest warrants.

An officer spotted the motorcycle Thursday near Riverside Town Houses. The driver dumped the bike and ran into an apartment building, authorities said. The suspect was arrested after officers secured and executed a search warrant.

He was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and arrested on warrants for absconding on parole and contempt of court.
