Five area students are each getting a boost from the Three Rivers Health Auxiliary team. The medical scholarships, which are $1,000 each, were announced in a press release on Thursday.
Being selected for the scholarships were Keri Doutlick and Tessa Hawkins of Glen Oaks Community College; Carley Morrill of Western Michigan University; Maegan Saunders of Grand Valley State University and Kira Wright of Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
In recent years, the Three Rivers Health Auxiliary team has proudly continued its tradition with the scholarships. Those considered for the scholarship must have a family member employed or one that volunteers their time at Three Rivers Health.
Team President Glenda Fultz said most of the future fundraisers will go to help the scholarship fund. David Casterline, executive director of the Three Rivers Health Foundation, praised the help and efforts of volunteers who contribute.
“These are awesome people and without them, these scholarships would not have been possible,” Casterline was quoted in the release.
