Wildlife-habitat workshop planned

The Southern Michigan Invasive Species Team is presenting a wildlife-habitat management workshop this weekend.

The three-hour program starts at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Kinderhook Township Hall in Branch County and then continues at Coldwater State Park.

Event organizer Jared Harmon said the workshop will cover topics that include invasive-species management and identification, as well as wildlife habitat restoration management techniques for grassland habitats.

A tour of restoration efforts at Coldwater Lake State Park by the Branch County Conservation District will follow.

Registration is not required for this free event, though Harmon said he would appreciate an RSVP in order to prepare an ample quantity of handouts. He can be reached at the St. Joseph County Conservation District at 269-467-6336, ext. 5, or by email at: jared.harmon@macd.org.
