Project Connect and its Veteran Stand Down program is seeking volunteers willing to work during next week’s event.
The Oct. 4 program is a community-resource fair for individuals and families who are low income, homeless and/or veterans. It is designed to give a hand up and improve their quality of life.
Event organizers said it is the county’s largest outreach event to connect residents with services. Nearly 400 households and 89 veterans attended last year.
Volunteers are needed for any length of time between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to aid with tasks such as bagging food at the FFI barn, helping at intake or exit areas, directing traffic, serving lunch, taking boxed lunches around to the agency vendors, entering intake/exit data into an online form and tear down.
Anyone able to help is advised to contact Laura Brott and 467-1240.
