Wanda Ucille Stauder, age 98, of Three Rivers, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019 at Thurston Woods Villa. She was born in Otsego, MI on March 26, 1921, the daughter of Leo Fowler and Anna Fowler. She graduated from Cedar Lake Academy, Glen Oaks Community College and attended Western Michigan University.
Wanda was married to George D. Stauder on January 22, 1939. She worked for the Three Rivers Public Library for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. She belonged to their ladies bible study and was a member of their quilting club. She enjoyed watching the birds and driving through sanctuaries such as Creeks Meadows in Wisconsin with her family; also the Seney Wildlife Preserve in Upper Michigan. She loved to go to Grand Marias, MI and look for agates with her husband George. She enjoyed her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She last attended the graduation of her great granddaughter, Emma Sandy of White Pigeon; she was honored on Emma’s hat.
Wanda is survived by two daughters, Margaret Miller (David) of Spooner, WI and Susan M. Gullett of Three Rivers. She had five grandchildren, Heather Hudgins, Michelle Cushing, Alice Galovan, Jason Miller and Katherine Hockmeister; five great grandchildren, Owen Cushing, Benjamin Cushing, Dylan Sandy, Emma Sandy and Nolan Galovan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son George Stauder and three grandchildren Tammy Stauder, Scott Stauder and Becky Stauder of Three Rivers; and sisters Leah Curtis and Esther House.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Three Rivers on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019. A celebration of life will be at 1:00 p.m., also at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with Rev. James Smith. It is suggested that memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Johns Lutheran Church of Three Rivers.
