Bicyclist hit by car

A 60-year-old Sturgis man was injured after the bicycle he was riding was struck by a car in Sturgis over the weekend.

According to a Sturgis Police media release, officers were called at 12:50 p.m. Saturday to the Walmart parking lot, in the 1500 block of South Centerville Road, where the man’s bicycle was struck by a moving vehicle.

The injured man was airlifted to an unnamed hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police believe neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the incident.
