Tomorrow is National Bosses Day here in the USA and Canada. Gentlemen, it would behoove you to make sure your significant other receives a nice bouquet of flowers.
As promised, here are a few more health tips when it comes to deciding on what to eat:
Beans are very nutritious and strengthening.
Onions, garlic, chives, and shallots are some of the vegetables that promote digestion.
White onions should be eaten as a cure for insomnia.
Salt will curdle milk.
Soda will sweeten milk that has slightly turned.
Next week I’ll list some other uses for food items other than consumption.
Good friends help you find important things, when you have lost them…Things like your smile, your hope, and your courage.
With winter weather arriving in a few months, we are sure to see higher energy bills. Unless you are planning to head south or southwest for the winter season, you might seriously consider having a “Home Energy Audit”. A home energy audit is an important first step to energy savings. After you choose a professional energy auditor, it’s time to prepare your home for inspection. Here is what you should do when it comes to preparing:
Gather copies of energy bills from the past twelve months.
Make note of drafty or uncomfortable problem areas in your home.
Prior to the inspection, put out fires and coals from the fireplace and stoves, and close all dampers.
Make sure your attic and crawlspace is cleared to allow access.
The auditor will check inside and outside for air leaks. He will also perform additional tests to evaluate your home’s energy efficiency. He’ll perform an analysis on your furnace, boiler and water heater. Some auditors will use infrared cameras to measure the radiation emitted in your home. This camera can pinpoint drafts and areas that are missing insulation.
A blower door test may also be done. After all windows and doors are closed, a fan is mounted into the frame of an exterior door and it will pull the air out of the house. Once the inside air pressure is low enough, outside air rushes in, which reveals any unseated cracks and openings throughout your house.
After completing the inspection, the auditor will analyze the data and give you a comprehensive home energy report with efficiency upgrade recommendations. By completing the upgrades, you could save quite a bit of money on future energy bills.
