Police pursuit ends in arrest

Three Rivers Police assisted with the culmination of a pursuit involving a Three Rivers man over the weekend.

Officers were notified Saturday that the incident was heading north toward the city. Officers prepared stop-sticks, which were deployed and successfully pierced the tires of the suspect car.

The vehicle continued into the city toward the area of Riverside Townhomes. The suspect drove the vehicle into a nearby field and he fled the scene on foot, according to officers.

A K-9 officer from the Three Rivers Police Department helped track and eventually locate the suspect, who was taken into custody following a foot chase between buildings. Officers later discovered the 26-year-old man lives in one of the units with his girlfriend.

He was charged with a number of felonies and was wanted on outstanding warrants.

The incident included officers from the White Pigeon Police Department and deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.
