Rex Conrad Whitney, age 92, of Three Rivers, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019 surrounded by his family at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born in Caruthersville, MO on July 12, 1927 the son of Roy H. and Leatha V. (Cullom) Whitney. Rex enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and gardening. He also loved to tinker with any hands on project he could find and spend many enjoyable hours fixing things as well. Rex and his wife, Barb enjoyed taking drives together along with their dog, Tro.
Rex was preceded in passing by parents, three brothers, and one sister.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, wife, Barbara Jean Whitney ; daughters, SueAnn (Todd) Voland and Darlene (Mike) Mitchell; sons, Rodney C. Whitney and Dale (Diane) Norton; brothers, Jack, Charles, and Larry Whitney; sister, Marion Overton; grandchildren; Merissa (Derek) Countryman, Maureen “Moe” Whitney, and Abby (Jerry) Krane; four great grandchildren.
In accordance with Rex’s wishes cremation will be conducted and graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Lower Flatbush Cemetery, Flowerfield Twp, MI.
