Woman injured in Mendon crash

A Mendon Township woman was injured after she attempted to avoid a deer and instead drove into a tree.

Sheriff’s deputies were called at 8:20 p.m. Sunday to Michigan Avenue near Hallam Road in Mendon Township. Upon further investigation, they found that 63-year-old Pamela Frost was driving west on Michigan Avenue when she swerved her vehicle to avoid colliding with a deer.

Authorities said her car left the roadway and struck a tree.

Frost had to be extricated from her vehicle and was eventually taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies said neither alcohol nor speed factored into the incident.
