Doug Conner, 77

Douglas M. Conner, age 77, of Constantine. passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at his home. He was born on April 7, 1942 in Lock Township, IN a son of Amos and Gladys (Whitehead) Conner. Doug graduated from Constantine High School in 1961. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam War receiving the Purple Heart.
On November 4, 1977 he married Anna L. Boals in Constantine. She preceded him in death December 30, 2011.
Doug worked as an office stock group leader for Miles Labs / Bayer Corp. for 37 years retiring in 2002.
He enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, barbeque and made the best beef jerky. He received the Meeks Mill Garden Club Beautification Award for the care of his yard and garden.
Surviving are his children Vicky (Brian) Gross, Constantine, Edward McArthur, Three Rivers, Malinda (Mark) Quirin, White Pigeon, Cynthia Owens, Tennessee, grandchildren Michael, Kaitlyn, Riley, Donnie, A.J., Andy, Kevin, Matt, Haley, Sherry and Randi, several great grandchildren, sister Mary Linton, Mottville, brother Frank (Rosamary) Conner, Dowagiac, many nieces and nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, wife, children William McArthur and Brenda Smith, grandson Steven Smith, and sister Judy Wolkins.
Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Cremation will follow and interment of Ashes will be in the Constantine Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Three Rivers Hospice.
