County commission makes reappointments

St. Joseph County commissioners this week OK’d a number of reappointments, starting with Kristina Eaton, Ruth Perry and a sheriff’s department representative to the Animal Control Advisory Board.

The positions are for three-year terms.

Meanwhile, Sturgis-area residents Warren Atkins and Douglas Pagels, along with White Pigeon-area resident Mark Ripplinger, were reappointed to the county’s planning commission.

Those posts, too, are for three years.

The St. Joseph County Parks and Recreation Commission will include Jeff Knautz and Steve Houts for three more years, as the pair was reappointed.

Also, Betty Taylor was reappointed to the Department of Health and Human Services Board. Her term will conclude Oct. 31, 2022.

The final matter of business saw Matt Scheske, senior vice president at Sturgis Bank and Trust, reappointed to the Investment Advisory Committee.

His term will expire in three years.
