Stay healthy during the holiday

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Health Department has issued a media release regarding holiday health.

It stated that Christmas Day results in more heart-related deaths than any other day of the year. Furthermore, the day after Christmas features the second-largest reports of heart-related deaths.

The tri-county agency is offering advice for how not to be a statistic this week.

Its tips include letting go of stress, being generous by helping someone less fortunate, taking the time to exercise or walk a short distance, making healthy choices when it comes to eating and drinking, and taking the time to enjoy being around family.

More details and additional information can be found online at the health agency’s Facebook page.
