Sheriff Brad Balk reports that deputies on Tuesday at approximately 7pm, responded to the intersection of US-131 and Riverside Drive in Constantine Township for a two vehicle crash.
Two females ages 27 and 31, accompanied by a 36-year-old male all from Elkhart, turned southbound on a northbound lane on US-131 from Riverside Drive. The vehicle turned into oncoming traffic, colliding with a semi driven by a 64-year-old male, from Goshen. The driver of the semi attempted to avoid the collision by swerving to the left, however the southbound pickup truck crashed into the semi.
One of the occupants in the pickup truck has died, and the two others are at Bronson Hospital, for treatment. The semi driver was not injured.
Names of those involved in the crash are being withheld.
This investigation is still on going, and alcohol is suspected to be a factor.
