Marian Cropsey, 98

Ruth Marian Lindsay Cropsey, age 98 and a half, of DeWitt, Michigan, left her loved ones to join her beloved Savior Jesus, husband Harmon, and son Christopher on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 20:00 hours EST earth time.   She was born in Jefferson County, Iowa, on July 30, 1921, to Robert Grant and Eva Durinda Mae Mandt Lindsay.  On July 29, 1943, she married Harmon George Cropsey at his farm home in Marcellus and they enjoyed serving the Lord together until God called Harmon home to heaven March 13, 2009.
Marian received her RN, nursing degree, during World War II while Harmon was serving as a navigator in the US Navy in B-24’s on missions across the English Channel. Her many-faceted career included nursing, farmer’s wife, Sunday School teacher, neighbor sharing the love of Christ, care for the elderly, poet, editor-typist for Harmon’s news articles, legislator’s wife, and well-beloved Mom, Grandmother, and  Great Grandmother.
Marian is survived by her children Robert (Shirley Shannon), David (Nancy White), Alan (Erika Rumminger), Carolyn (David) Toomey, George (Mandy Shattuck), and Lindsay (Jerome) Eddy, 19 grandchildren, and 56 great grandchildren. If the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world, Marian rocked heavenly-minded rulers: nurse, farmer-entrepreneur, cash consultant, attorney-legislator, and missionary church-planting doctors in education and surgery.
A viewing and funeral will be held Friday, January 24, at Volinia Baptist Church (19526 Marcellus Hwy, Decatur, MI 49045) near the farm where she reared her family and came to know the Lord. Family and friends are invited to the viewing at 12:30 and the funeral at 2:00 pm as well to the committal service at Crane Cemetery about three miles from the church on Decatur Road.  Everyone is invited to a meal at the church after the graveside service at Crane Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.materralstonfuneralhome.com.
Marian’s giving left her tax advisor awe-struck, and she would counsel that in lieu of funeral flowers you choose an everlasting investment.
