Centreville and Nottawa agree to cemetery contract

The village of Centreville and Nottawa Township have come to an agreement regarding Old Centreville Cemetery and will sign a contract soon, village staff said Tuesday after a recent council meeting.

Under the agreement, the village and township will form the Old Centreville Cemetery committee, which will bear sole responsibility for maintenance and repair of the property at the corner of Dean and Ann streets.

The committee will consist of one representative each from the village, township and Daughters of the American Revolution. The village and township each will contribute $600 per year and the committee will ensure the cemetery is kept in good and safe condition, and landscaped in an attractive manner.
