County commission makes board appointments

Several appointments and reappointments were made Tuesday by members of the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners.

Commissioner Dan Czajkowski and Mendon Township resident Roger Gentz were reappointed to the St. Joseph County Agricultural Preservation Board.

Czajkowski’s term is for one year while Gentz will serve for a three-year period.

Current member Carroll Parmeter, Flowerfield Township supervisor, declined reappointment as he is not seeking re-election to his township post. Parmeter’s soon-to-be-vacant position as a township representative will need to be filled.

Meanwhile, one re-appointment and three new appointments to the St. Joseph County Veterans’ Affairs Board were approved.

Three Rivers-area resident Nathan Brown will serve four more years. New appointments are Findley Road resident Bill Walters for a term expiring March 1 next year; Steve Holt of Sturgis, appointed to complete a three-year term; and White Pigeon-area resident Frederick Yager, who will serve a four-year term.
