“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” ~ Albert Einstein

Polls can be very interesting. I’m not talking about those places you go to cast a ballot and vote, but rather the publication of people’s opinions. According to a 1975 poll conducted by the Madame Tussaud Waxworks in London, history’s most hated people, past and present, are, in order: Adolph Hitler, Idi Amin, Count Dracula, Richard M. Nixon, and Jack the Ripper. At that time, dentists and tax collectors fared better than expected. I think it’s time to conduct another survey.
River Country Eye Care will conduct comprehensive eye exams for all kindergartners and students entering Young 5s at no cost, this Saturday, February 15, from 10 AM until 4 PM. River Country Eye Care is located at 1107 West Broadway, Suite A, in Three Rivers. Dr. Adam Goff and his staff will accept walk-ins, but making an appointment is preferred. Please phone their office at 269-244-3350.
Here are some very sensible quotes. I’m not sure who said them, but they do make a lot of sense
“Say what you mean and mean what you say.”
“Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.”
“If everybody is thinking alike, then somebody is not thinking.”
“Do more than is required of you.”
If you’re a lover of music, here are two events you might be interested in and they are both FREE.
The first takes place a week from tomorrow, February 20. The Three Rivers High School will present a pre-festival concert at the High School Performing Arts Center beginning at 7 PM. The Performing Arts Center is located at 851 Sixth Avenue in Three Rivers. As mentioned, the concert is FREE. A perfect opportunity to witness future musicians doing what they love to do.
On Saturday, February 22, the Kalamazoo Concert Band will present “The Homefront”. It will feature music that was popular during World War II. The venue is the Chenery Auditorium, 714 South Westnedge in Kalamazoo. The conductor will raise his baton promptly at 7:30 PM. The concert and parking is FREE.
For a happy and rewarding life, you might consider heeding some of these hints:
Live beneath your means.
Drive inexpensive cars, but own the best house you can afford.
Ask for a raise when you feel you’ve earned it.
Be a student in some kind of class.
See you Out and About!
