Stanley Elmer Simpson, age 61, of Fulton, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born in Vicksburg on April 22, 1958 the son of Robert and Alma (Prough) Simpson. He graduated from Portage Central High School and worked numerous jobs in the area, including Triple S Plastics, Summit Polymers, Curtis Body Shop, and Dorrance Roofing. Stanley enjoyed working on cars, helping people, and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Stanley is survived by his mother, Alma Simpson-Lodge (Thomas)of Fulton; three sisters, Kathleen Vaughn-Burr (Roy) of Mendon, Alice Smith (Al) of Vicksburg, and Peggy Kequom (Anthony) of Fulton; step brother, Mark Lodge (Meada) of Florida; step-sister, Mary Newman of Portage; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Elmer Simpson; and a brother, Robert Lee Simpson.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm Sunday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be 11 am Monday, Feb. 17, 2020 at the Fulton Christian Church with Pastor Ralph Ackley officiating. Burial will be in Dutton Cemetery, Mendon Township. It is suggested that donations be directed to either the American Diabetes Association, or to the Ladies Fellowship at Fulton Christian Church.
