United Way sets fundraising record

United Way of St. Joseph County set a new record for its annual fundraiser, as the agency announced Tuesday it raised more than $1 million for Campaign 2020.

The 12-month drive netted $1,076,000, topping the record set a year ago.

The Centreville-based agency staged its annual Victory Celebration at Rouch World, where Morgan Olson of Sturgis was acknowledged as the No. 1 donor for the 2020 campaign.

Tadd and Debbie Davis of Colon were also recognized for their role as chairs of the 2020 campaign.

In its 21-year history, the United Way of St. Joseph Company has raised more than $15 million to help fund programs and events of more than 40 recipients in the county.
