Three Rivers Health has announced it is initiating visitor limitations effective immediately.
Hospital officials said the plan is an effort to protect patients and visitors from the growing incidence of flu, Coronavirus and other respiratory illnesses. Although the incidence of the flu or other respiratory illness is low, the restrictions are temporary steps to reduce exposure, according to a hospital-issued media release.
The precautions include limiting visitors to 12 years of age and older. Also, emergency-room visitors are limited to two per patient. OB visitors must be immediate family members.
Hospital officials also ask that children not be in the lobby or waiting areas unless present for medical care. In addition, it is being requested that anyone with a fever, cough, sore throat, or other types of illness refrain from visiting.
