David Forrest Shingledecker, age 49, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazo. David was born on June 8, 1970 the son of Bud and Dorothy Shingledecker.
On June 7, 1997 David was united with Juanita Shingledecker in holy matrimony. She meant everything to him. His wife Juanita is still at Borgess Hospital battling COVID-19.
David graduated from Vicksburg High School class of 1989. He was employed at International Paper for over twenty years and was an avid member of their local union The United Steel Workers Local 2-1033.
David was an avid outdoors man and he loved fishing. He was a member of the Battle Creek Steel Headers. He loved taking his grandchildren fishing. Some of the places he enjoyed fishing at were Corey Lake, Lake Michigan, and Lake Erie. He was a big Star Wars fan and enjoyed going to the movies with his wife. He also enjoyed watching wrestling. He was a big fan of Ford trucks and always teased anyone driving anything else.
David was a loving husband, Father, Papa and friend. He was all about his family all the time. He would always want his children around him and enjoyed having summer cookouts with pool time. He loved his animals, they were like children to him, Lucy his dog and Angel his cat.
He had a wild sense of humor and always tried to make everyone happy especially his grandchildren. He liked playing games online with the grand kids. He was always a big people person, not afraid to talk to anyone and was the kind of guy that would help anyone with anything.
Left to cherish his loving memory are his wife: Juanita Shingledecker; children: Harley Shingledecker, Michelle (Josh) Ash, and John (Apolonia) Mukka, Jenifer (Ryan) Mukka, and Jessica (Derek) Mukka; and fifteen grandchildren that he loved with all his heart.
In accordance with the family’s wishes cremation has taken place and a public service will be held on a later date.
