Michigan Department of Transportation has announced it is continuing Stage 5 traffic on the U.S. 131 redevelopment project.
As a result, two-way traffic on the southbound side of U.S. 131 through the length of the project will continue.
This week, there will be some utility relocation work ongoing throughout the project, while roadbuilding work will continue north of Coon Hollow Road. Meanwhile, removal of old pavement will begin between Michigan Avenue and Coon Hollow Road.
Also, underground work related to pipe-laying should finish this week on Michigan Avenue before new pavement is applied.
Furthermore, all business driveways will be maintained at all times.
MDOT wishes to note that electrical subcontractors will continue performing traffic-signal work at various locations along the route.
All operations are weather dependent and subject to change, MDOT said.
