Royce Monroe Jacobs, age 93, of Three Rivers, formerly Constantine, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Bowman House inĀ Three Rivers.
Royce was born November 20, 1926 in Constantine, son of Fred and Evelyn (Nolan) Jacobs. He graduated from Constantine High School. On December 22, 1945, he married Helen Schultz; mother of his children. She preceded him on March 2, 1967. On April 16, 1968, he married Lillian Hassinger; she preceded him on January 26, 1998. On August 1, 1998 he married Alice Schmidtendorff; mother of his step-children. She preceded him on September 8, 2014.
Royce worked at Constantine Creamery, enjoyed farming, and later drove truck delivering grain. He had a strong faith and was a member of Corey Church of the Nazarene. Royce greatly enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards with friends, and traveling. He had an uncanny ability to remember roads and routes traveled throughout his life.
Surviving are sons Terrance (Sandra) Jacobs, Constantine, John (Cherie) Jacobs, Sturgis, and David (Kristi) Jacobs, Marcellus, daughter Bonnie (Fred) Ferrah, Elkhart, step-children Delilah (Barry) Smith, Onsted, Kevin (Sue) Schmidtendorff, Three Rivers, and Vanessa (Mike) Culp, Constantine, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Helen, Lillian, and Alice.
Family services will be held at Constantine Cemetery with Pastor PJ Horn officiating.
