Three Rivers band director leaving district

A longtime member of the Three Rivers Community Schools family announced last week he is leaving the district.

In a letter emailed to parents and the school district, Bryan VanToll said he wished to thank the community for its support of Three Rivers High School and its middle school band programs over the past 11 years.

VanToll went on to explain that he was offered the job of director of bands at Portage Central High School and decided it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. VanToll said he found that this new position would provide new challenges, opportunities, resources and experiences.

Due to current circumstances, VanToll said he is sorry about not being able to share the news with students, teachers and families in person. He said he will field questions and elaborate with students through Google Hangout sessions.
