Woman arrested after stabbing incident

A Lockport Township woman was arrested after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend last week.

St. Joseph County sheriff’s deputies were called at 1:15 p.m. Friday to the 57000 block of Oak Park Road in response to a domestic-disturbance complaint.

Investigators said the couple had been arguing over the victim having used the suspect’s car to go to work. The victim returned the car and its keys, per the suspect’s request.

Deputies said the suspect started yelling at the victim, who took shelter in the car. The suspect eventually gained entry into the vehicle and allegedly struck the victim three times in the back of the head.

The suspect then exited the back seat, re-entering the vehicle through the driver’s side door and started trying to get the victim out of the car. She removed a pocket knife from her pants pocket and stabbed the victim under the left forearm.

The victim was transported to Three Rivers Health for treatment of his wound.

Authorities said the suspect was charged with felonious assault and domestic assault.
