Laura Felch, age 98, of Three Rivers, died Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Three Rivers Health. She was born in Mishawaka on Oct. 8, 1921 one of eight children born to Orville and Evelyn (Emmans) Shirk. After graduation from Constantine High School, Laura attended Western Michigan University where she received her Master’s Degree in education. She specialized in special needs education and retired from the Pathfinder School in Centreville. She was married to Arland Fred Felch on June 12, 1946 in Three Rivers. Laura was a member of Kingdom Hall, Jehovah Witness in Three Rivers. She and her late husband, Arland, enjoyed travelling and camping. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Laura is survived by her daughter, Wendy Abrams of Three Rivers; a grandson, Homer King of Virginia; five great grandchildren, Hali Felch of Arizona, Michael Kurth, Paige Felch, and Kristine Pierce of Three Rivers, Tara King of Portage; five great-great-grandchildren, Paizley, Graysynn, Major, Legend, and Edward. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arland in 2003; and by two children, Christine Felch and Lance Fenner.
In keeping with her wishes, there is no visitation or services planned. Interment will take place at 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park, 3941 S. Westnedge, Kalamazoo.
