Members of the River Country Recreational Authority approved grant-match dollars totaling over $300,000 toward the Millard/Broadway Trail, which will reach Meyer Broadway Park.
The action took place during Thursday’s meeting.
The funds have been held by the Three Rivers Area Community Foundation and include collaboration between River Country Recreational Authority, Three Rivers Area Community Foundation, city of Three Rivers, Fabius Township and St. Joseph County.
The match funds were a mix of grant dollars and community-raised funds.
Board members said the trail project is scheduled to begin in the city’s 2021 fiscal-year budget, which begins July 1.
