McDonough court appearance postponed

A Thursday court appearance scheduled for St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough was postponed.

McDonough, who was cited last month for driving while intoxicated, was to appear via video conference before Judge Vincent Westra of Kalamazoo County 8th District Court.

St. Joseph County 3B District Court officials said a new date was not immediately set. Thursday’s proceeding was rescheduled from May 21.

McDonough, age 40, was involved in a single-vehicle crash around 7 p.m. May 11 in the 17000 block of Lovers Lane in Lockport Township. Investigators said McDonough’s vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a property owner’s fence.

McDonough, who was also cited for having open intoxicants in the vehicle, was elected prosecutor in 2008, defeating longtime incumbent Doug Fisher.
