Michigan Department of Transportation says road crews assigned to the U.S. 131 reconstruction project will have a short week.
With the impending federal holiday coming up this weekend, work crews will suspend operations at 3 p.m. Thursday and not return until July 6.
The project will see the Stage 5 traffic pattern continue with two-way traffic on the southbound side of U.S. 131 throughout the project limits.
Also this week, some utility-relocation work will be ongoing throughout the length of the project.
Mainline paving is to continue on the new northbound stretch of U.S. 131. Meanwhile, work on Broadway Road and Coon Hollow Road is completed and both routes have reopened.
MDOT says westbound Millard Street is closed and a detour is posted. Eastbound Millard, however, is open while roadbuilding begins on the southern half of the street.
In addition, Kerr Creek roadbuilding continues and the south end of Kerr Creek is closed permanently with a cul de sac.
Finally, electrical subcontractors will be performing traffic-signal work at various locations on the project.
