Police pursuit leads to arrests

Two men from Three Rivers were arrested following a pursuit that ended in Park Township Monday morning.

Sheriff Mark Lillywhite said deputies were called around 11 a.m. to the area of Harrison Road, near Crampton Road in Mottville Township, in an effort to locate a stolen truck from Elkhart County.

In the meantime, the vehicle was located by detectives from the Cass County Sheriff’s Department in the area of Bair Lake Street, near the St. Joseph County Line. Cass County authorities followed the truck to Hoffman Road, near Day Road in Fabius Township, where St. Joseph County Deputies initiated a pursuit.

Spike strips were successfully deployed on Pulver Road, near Bullock Road. The pursuit continued to the area of U.S. 131 and Moorepark Road, where the vehicle stopped and its occupants surrendered to deputies.

The 28-year-old driver had several outstanding warrants. Meanwhile, the 21-year-old passenger was in possession of narcotics, deputies said.
