Centreville plans second stimulus promotion

On the heels of a popular promotion to help local businesses, the Centreville Downtown Development Authority has agreed to stage a second stimulus gift certificate program.

The $50 gift cards will be offered for $25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 1 at Centreville High School. There is a limit of two per customer per business.

In all, six Centreville businesses are taking part in the August event: Lil’ Louie’s, The Local, Royal Café, Yoder’s Country Market, Hair Depot and X-treme Hair Lengths.

The program will be funded by $3,000 from the village’s DDA, $3,000 from the Covered Bridge Days committee and $1,000 from St. Joseph County United Way.

The program has the potential to infuse $14,000 into these local restaurants and salons, DDA officials said.
