Constantine company plans to add provisioning center

The Constantine Village Council voted recently to allow Fawn River Cultivation Company, pending approval of legalities, to add a medical-marijuana provisioning center at its site.

Located at 621 Industrial Drive, the company currently has permits for growing and processing.

Company president Dominic Iemma said he was applying for an abandoned permit granted previously to another facility but not renewed by its owner.

He said a provisioning center at his location would address general complaints brought up at previous council meetings regarding too many retail marijuana operations in the downtown area.

He noted it would allow for people who may want to purchase marijuana in a more discreet manner an alternative to being on the main thoroughfare. Iemma said he planned to complete the application form and pay the $5,000 fee right away.
