Phyllis Apple, 82

Phyllis Jean Apple, age 82, of Sturgis, passed away at home on Friday, July 10, 2020 after a brief battle with Cancer.

Phyllis was born on December 20, 1937 to Laurence and Esther Rager.  Phyllis attended Ball State University from 1955 – 1958, graduating with a degree in Education.  She taught at Knapp Elementary School until her retirement.

Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, Jack Apple, on March 29, 1958.  Together they raised two sons.  Surviving her are her two sons Jerry (Maureen) of Lake Leelanau, MI, and Larry (Sue) Apple of Laporte, IN, two grandchildren Rebecca and Brian Apple, one sister Bertha Reish and her fiancé Ron Bootcheck.  She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Apple and her parents.

Phyllis enjoyed playing cards, traveling, camping, reading, quilting and most of all spending time with her family.  Her greatest joy were here two sons and two grandchildren.  She was a proud member of P.E.O. International.

The Family would like to thank Three Rivers Health Hospice for the excellent care they provided for Phyllis.  There are not enough words to thank you.

At Phyllis’s request, no service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Three Rivers Health Hospice, 711 S. Health Parkway, Three Rivers, MI 49093 in honor of Phyllis Apple, or a charity of one’s choice. Online condolences may be left for the family at Schipperfuneralhome.com.
