Progress continues in US 131 project

Michigan Department of Transportation officials said progress is being made on work related to the U.S. 131 redevelopment project in Three Rivers.

Improvements on Broadway Road are finished and it will re-open Wednesday.

Meanwhile, westbound traffic on Millard Road will move to the southbound side of the road today. MDOT officials ask eastbound motorists to please follow the posted detour.

Elsewhere, some utility relocation work remains ongoing throughout the project and workers continue to keep access maintained to all U.S. 131 businesses. Also, the Kerr Creek cul-de-sac paving project is complete.

Paving of the multi-use path is ongoing and the project’s electrical contractor continues to perform traffic-signal work at various locations throughout the construction route. In addition, paving on the new southbound stretch of U.S. 131 remains ongoing.
