A recount conducted Thursday confirmed results of the Aug. 4 election for Fabius Township supervisor.
St. Joseph County Clerk Lindsay Oswald said the two-hour, hand-count process verified Ken Linn earned 391 votes, while 388 votes were cast for Dan Wilkins.
The recount was conducted at the request of Wilkins, who was required to pay a $25 fee for the procedure. The recount took place at the county courthouse and Oswald said Linn was present during the procedure.
Oswald said Thursday’s recount was the second in a row to verify what turned out to be the exact outcome from election night and follow-up canvass.
Linn, a Lucas Road resident, will succeed longtime supervisor John Kroggel. Kroggel stepped in as supervisor in 2009 after the passing of Bob McDonough.
