Glen Oaks participates in Futures for Frontlines program

Glen Oaks Community College has announced it will serve as a Frontliners Champion to support the Futures for Frontlines program, unveiled this week by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

The program provides the opportunity for essential workers during the pandemic to attend community college for free.

Glen Oaks President David Devier said many of the men and women Glen Oaks represents were out in the community putting their health and lives on the line.

Providing frontline workers in essential industries with access to tuition-free community college to pursue their career is a relevant way to say thank you, Devier said.

As a Frontliners Champion, Glen Oaks has committed to make sure members know about this opportunity. The application period runs through Dec. 1, with enrollment available beginning in January.
