JoAnn Skytta, age 69, former Ishpeming resident and currently of Three Rivers, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020 at Bronson Methodist Hospital from her short battle with cancer.
JoAnn was born in Marquette on March 10, 1951 to the late Shirley (Rolstone) and Frank Budney.
JoAnn worked for many years at Congress Lounge & Pizza and Olson News before moving to the Lower Penninsula to be closer to her family.
Her hobbies included feeding the birds, gardening, and just being outdoors in nature. She enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, and meeting new people.
Most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
She is survived by her four children, Patti (Johnny) Byrd of Phoenix, AZ, Tracy Niemi of White Pigeon, Craig Skytta of Phoenix, and Amber (Kevin) of Schorey Athens, MI; one brother, Greg (Laurie) Budney Milwaukee; eight grandchildren, Jack Niemi Jr, Abby Niemi, Tucker Niemi, Jordyn Byrd, Zachary Byrd, Ryan Lapins, Austin Lapins, & Korbin Schorey; three great-grandchildren, Armani, Brayden, & Montrel (Fella).
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Frank G. Budney.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
