Michigan Department of Transportation is starting a road-resurfacing project Tuesday (9-8-20) in Mottville Township.
MDOT’s Nick Schirripa said the $1.2 million project will start on U.S. 12 at the St. Joseph River in Mottville and continue east to U.S. 131. The work will include a stretch of M-103, south of U.S. 12.
Schirripa said the resurfacing will involve single-lane closures and require the assistance of traffic regulators at both ends of the work zone. He said the project calls for the use of hot-mix asphalt, followed by the task of resurfacing and adding pavement markings.
The improvements will enhance safety and ride quality, and help extend the life of the roadways, Schirripa said.
Work crews expect to complete the job by Sept. 30.
