COA director accepts new position with Thurston Woods Village

St. Joseph County Commission On Aging will have to search for a new director, as Tim Stoll has been hired as chief executive officer at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.

Following an extensive search, Stoll was the clear choice for the position, according to members of the search committee.

The 48-year-old Stoll, a Colon High School graduate and Sherwood resident, joined the COA in July 2016. He will forever be linked to the successful concept of converting the former Three Rivers Inn to COA headquarters and senior housing.

Thurston Woods officials said Stoll brings notable experience in senior living, having served in various capacities in nursing homes and retirement communities.

Stoll will spend several days in December with Theo Omo, current CEO, to help ensure a smooth transition when he begins his position Jan. 2
