Sturgis receives PFAS testing results

Sturgis city officials said 12 test sites for PFAS came back with little or none of the industrial chemical recently found in groundwater.

Municipal officials last week said the city voluntarily tested 12 private drinking-water wells south of Big Hill Landfill property on Big Hill Road in August as part of proactive monitoring of PFAS.

Test results were received in two batches, on Aug. 21 and Sept. 4, and all tests were reported below the state of Michigan’s most recent drinking water quality standards related to PFAS, city officials said.
