Centreville extends virtual learning

A St. Joseph County school district announced Tuesday it is extending the duration of its virtual learning through Thanksgiving break.

Centreville Superintendent Stephanie Lemmer said she consulted with health department officials and determined the smartest choice is to remain virtual learning until Nov. 30. The district previously was scheduled to conduct virtual learning through the end of next week.

Centreville district started virtual learning one week ago.

Meanwhile, Lemmer said there will be a food distribution for all district families between 2 and 4 p.m. today and next Wednesday. The drive-thru food distribution takes place outside the high school and recipients will not need to exit from their vehicles.

In addition, Lemmer said all athletic teams are able to continue to practice and compete for the moment.
