Joseph A. Yoder, age 90, of Berrien Center, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. Joseph was born in LaGrange Co., IN on February 17, 1930, a son of Ammon and Mattie (Yoder) Yoder. He attended Scott Public Schools in Indiana. On July 22, 1951, he married Amelia Miller at Locust Grove Mennonite Church in Burr Oak.
Joseph had many jobs over the years including working for the Rubber Company in Goshen, plumbing for many companies in the mobile home industry, and for Dock Foundry. He was most proud of his career driving semi for over 20 years, officially retiring at the age of 72. Joseph loved to work on cars and motors. He could fix anything and everything. He even designed and built his own home.
Surviving Joseph are his wife of 69 years Amelia Yoder of Berrien Center; son Timothy (Sue) Yoder of Berrien Center; grandchildren Jennifer (Clint) Marlin, Chad (Michelle) Mallo, Andrew (Staci) Mallo, Brian (Brittany) Mallo, and Joseph (Jeccika) Yoder; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother and sister in infancy.
Relatives and friends will be received Saturday, November 14 from 1 to 2 PM at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville. Religious services will follow at 2 PM. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are required. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Centreville.
