Betty Fry, 96

Betty J. Fry, age 96, of Sturgis, passed away Friday morning, December 18, 2020 at her home.
She was born August 23, 1924 in LaGrange, daughter of the late Wellington and Lulu (Smith) Bradley.
Betty resided most of her life in Sturgis and was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1944.
On August 15, 1944 she married Vern C. Fry in Hillsdale. He preceded her in death September 14, 1991.
Betty retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis following over 30 years of dedicated employment. She also farmed with her husband and while in high school she worked at Walgreens Drug Store in Sturgis.
At one time she was a member of a sewing club. She enjoyed arrowhead hunting, going to flea markets and was a collector of most anything.
She is survived by one daughter: Alice Fry of Sturgis; one son: Eric (Sherry) Fry of Sturgis; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; one sister: Ramah Krontz of Burr Oak; one brother: Theodore Bradley of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister-in-law: Katherine Fry of Sturgis and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son: Randall Vern Fry, four grandchildren: Tonga, Mellissa, Makya and Kaiden; three brothers: James, Thomas and Paul Bradley and two sisters: Margaret Asmus and Dorothy Billman.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:45 P.M. Monday at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-3284. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions of gatherings, the current limitations of no more than 25 people in the funeral home at a time will be followed and face masks are required. Following the visitation a graveside service and burial will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis at 2:00 P.M. Monday. Chaplain Scott Southerland of Heartland Hospice will officiate.
